Periodontology

The signs of periodontal disease are gingival bleeding, diffuse pains, bad breath (unpleasant smell of the oral cavity). These must attract attention of the patient at the occurring of a disease at the tissue that fixes the tooth in the bone. Dental mobility is a latish sign.

Periodontal diseases are caused by bacteria (or other factors) which under the form of a microbial plaque or tartar adheres to the gum, bone and surrounding tissues. Thus the removal of these factors (plaque, tartar) through a periodical descaling is the first method through which we can prevent this disease that affects approximately 3 out of 4 adults.

In our cabinet you have the possibility of correctly diagnose the periodontal disease and monitor the periodontal gingival bags (measurement of their depth in 4 points at each tooth, registering of the measured dimensions in a table and follow up of the evolution of periodontal pockets after their treatment).

Treatment consists in:

• Works of professional hygienization for the incipient cases
• Treatments of professional radicular root planning and smoothing for medium cases, follow up of the treatment’s evolution.
• Surgical treatment (flap operation) for the complicated cases.
